cb160 year question

Post by dreaming56 » Sat Jul 30, 2011 12:15 pm

ooPs, posted on the wrong forum, I have a question about the year my cb160 is. The frame #B160-1006262, the engine #B160E-1006250 but the wiring harness number shows 1964. Any idea what year the bike is? The guy I bought it from told me it was a 1969, I always thought the harness told the year of the bike. Could somwone let me know the real year is?
Thanks Stan,

Were they still in production in 69?

Are the fork sliders steel? if so that 64 number sounds close. I only have a few numbers in the database and they seem to suggest that it's an early production, so again 64 sounds about right

the fork sliders apear to be brass and I think they must have made 160's in 69 because my parts book shows that it covers all models from 64 to 69. I'm petty sure you're right and after looking at some of the parts it makes sense. I want to thank you for the time you took and I can't thank the people on this forum enough. It just does'nt matter what the question someone has the answer. What would we do without it. I'll send pics as I rebuild it.
Thanks a bunch Stan,
