what are the rare original honda Dream accessories?

Post by eamescollector » Fri Jun 24, 2011 6:11 pm

just wondering if anybody had a list of the actual honda dream accessories, made by honda, that were available in the 60s when you bought your bike from the honda dealer?

i know honda made things like a plexi windscreen with their logo embossed in it, a chrome fender tip for the ca and cl with the honda wing coming out of it, i've seen the headlight shield with the smaller wing on it. (there are re-pops of these on ebay for $16!) i just bought a honda helmet holder that goes on the headset bolt, funny flat washer with a slot for the strap, you supply the lock...

did they offer a top tank chrome trim that covers the tank's top seam, or was that some aftermarket company like buco, bates or asc?

i have seen those hard leather round saddle bags made by honda for the earlier dreams. supper cool, but i think they were for the domestic market, or so i was told...

what else is there? i looked around the net and did not find anybody that had a list or photos of what was available from honda, so i was thinking of putting one together. any help or leads? just wanted to do the Dream line of accessories...

thanks! steve

some of what you're looking for may be here. http://www.vintagehonda.net/docs/1961accybook.pdf

prices penciled in in places. pretty cheap.

cb'ers check out the racing accessories on last pages. turn your cb into a road racer or scrambler.

some other interesting stuff can be seen by backing up to website.

My '66 CA77 has a goofy front fender rack. No idea if it was an official accessory:

It also had the highway bar, but I just had to take it off recently because it wasn't aesthetically pleasing to me.
