CA77 seat, or is it?

Post by Caryn83 » Wed Jun 08, 2011 10:44 am

I've been looking around at covers my 305's seat, and it got me thinking. I've had trouble lining up the bolt screws when re-attatching the seat, and started wondering if my seat is really for my bike. I've tried to compare photos of both seats side by side, but I can't see a big difference. I searched the forum here, and noticed someone said that the ca95 seat seemed longer. Any thoughts/feedback on telling the difference would be appreciated!

I have a CA95 seat on the CA77. At least I think I do. I don't think its any longer but it does appear to be narrower and possibly has more open area under the seat? I could take some measurements. Only reason I used it was that it had a nice cover and the one for my Dream did not. I gave it a try and it worked for me. I bit harder to install as had a front hole mount instead of a slot mount.

CA95 seat on a CA77

Post by conbs » Wed Jun 08, 2011 11:40 pm

I have a friend with both CA150 and CA77 bikes. I had wondered if the seats were the same dimensions. A quick comparison of the seats side by side and the overall dimensions seemed identical. The front mount looked the same, but the back mounting holes were off by about an inch or so when trying to put the CA77 seat on the CA150 bike.

Don't know about the difference between CA95 and CA77.

Thanks everyone for the replies. I too think there might be a little more space on the underside. I think I'm going to keep this seat and re-cover it anyway, it works well enough.

Make sure it fits with the tank on. I bought a seat that was suppose to be a ca77 seat and it wouldn't fit. The bolt holes in the rear we're too narrow and with the tank on they wouldn't line up too far back with the tank on. Also too much air under the seat big look through.
