Heads and Air Filters

Post by newcb77owner » Wed Mar 09, 2011 9:22 pm

I'm a new guy to this...
Is it fine/possible for me to run the engine of a 64 cb77 with just headers and a set of air filters, no mufflers? Tips and comments very welcome.

Thanks
-Dan

Hiya Dan and welkomen!

Straight headers just don't provide enough back pressure needed to properly combust the air/fuel mix. Adding a smallish baffle would do the trick ... although you may still need to rejet. You can run straight headers if you install throttle bodies and a complete EFI system (megasquirt for example). Now there's a can-O-worms eh?
