1961 Dream

Post by waldrtw » Mon May 23, 2011 3:50 pm

I found a original 1961 Honda Dream for sale. Is this a rare model because of the year or no different than a later year dream?

It's a bit more rare than the later ones I'd say. The rear shock mount struts are different (cooler in my opinion that the later ones). The tail light is different. The gas cap is centered on the tank. Lookes like your's still has the air pump even! That's cool. Looks like you have original exhuast and the carb covers which is also very cool. I'm sure there is also some other differences that others will let you know about.

Good find!

I'd say get it if the seller isn't asking too much.

Jethro, that is the later one piece exhaust design that the bike is currently wearing, which would not have been original to the bike. It would have had the large open end muffler that takes the big black rubber gasket for the headpipe to slip into. He has it listed an Caraigslist Atlanta for $2850 and has it listed under our 305 site under "bikes for sale" too. Here's a linked photo from the Craiglst post that shows the one piece muffler/headpipe https://picasaweb.google.com/ducktime20 ... 9740683522

Good eye! I figured I'd miss something with this one.
