bolt specs right case

Post by skeptic » Tue May 17, 2011 2:56 pm

My CL72 is missing bolt which goes into right side case just below the kick starter. It has larger hole than the other machine screws. What size is this? Is it philips or hex? Does it have washer under it? Sorry, I don't have manual. Thanks

The hole is taped for a 8mm bolt but the bikes came with no bolt installed nor is there mention of a bolt in the parts book or shop manual. I bought a used 66 CL77 that had a chrome cap bolt installed and looked like it belonged. Maybe one of the "experts" could shead some more light on this subject.
