hard clutch

Post by G-GAURD » Fri May 06, 2011 6:40 pm

hi everybody
my cl77 clutch lever is a hard pull. feels like i'm driving with no power steering and my hand gts cramped when i just go around the block.

the clutch springs are the same that came with the bike and i'm not sure if when thet get worn out that they get more stiff. cable route is good but could be routed the wrong way.

any ideas or sugestions would be great

let me know

The should get weaker with time.
My guess is there is some binding somewhere in the lever, cable, or actuator.

Make sure everything is free moving from the bars to the actuator arm and threads.

Clean and lube the cable and make sure there are no kinks.

Had the very same problem a few months back and 6-8 squirts of WD fixed me up.
Disconnect the cable at the lever, hold it up and with your fingers seal the spray nozzel tube of the light spray lube of your choice over the cable housing hole and squirt some oil inside the cable till you see some come out the other end.
Check the cable at the lever attachment bead, if there are any broken wires, start looking for a new cable.
