Actually that part and the spokes were my target yesterday. Thank you for the tip, Rob.

Still exciting to see that grunge disappear .

You will love that cabinet. Get yourself a bag of glass beads for cleaning up aluminum. Less agressive and leaves a smoother finish. When I have a need, I'm going to try soda in my cabinet. I suspect it will all go into the vacuum cleaner, though. Might end up doing that stuff outside and just let it fly into the wind.

Another good media is walnut shells. It cleans without removing material. I actually cleaned a vintage cloth covered wiring harness with walnut shells. It removed the varnish from the cloth, but that is easy to replace and the harness looks much better. It was an accidental discovery while cleaning up a chrome switch with the walnut shells. Some wires were still on it and where they got blasted, looked pretty good.

Rob

theres a guy on ebay out of ohio selling spoke sets, I bought a set and they fit perfect, and they were stepped perfect. He sells them for 35.00, you cant beat that for chrome spokes and nipples with the washers. nutt

All I can say regarding bead blasting the inner hubs is WOW!

!0 Minutes, and 46 years of not-so-clear coat and corrosion gone.

Onward!
