Fork seal housing - 1965 CL77Fork seal housing - 1965 CL77Hi guys,
I'm looking for a front fork seal housing for a 1965 CL77. These are the chrome housings with holes for an OD spanner wrench. One of mine has decent chrome and on the other the chrome has started to flake off. Anyone have a decent one to sell???????? Thanks, Gary '65 CL77 Owner
Re: Fork seal housing - 1965 CL77Ya find the part Gary?. .....lm
Fork Seal HousingsThanks for the followup. Actually, I did not hear from anyone who might have had a decent one.
I got to thinking sort of out of the box on how to achieve an original look without having my originals rechromed. Of course, I could buy a new OEM one from Ohio Cycle for $90.00 but thought I'd try something different before I layed out the big bucks. A local refinisher who specializes in powdercoat and ceramic metallic coatings has been painting with the new Chrome Paint. "RIDES" did a show on TLC where one of Billy F. Gibbons' custom cars, a '61 Caddy, was painted with this paint on the hardtop. From what I understand, the part is painted with gloss black first and then multi coats of the "Chrome" is painted on until the desired reflectivity is achieved. The nice thng about the paint system is that if there is any rust pitting, which I had, it can be primered and blocked prior to painting thus obtaining a fresh surface for the paint. For $15.00 per housing, How could I go wrong? I'll post some pics of them when I get them back, you can make your own judgements. Gary '65 CL77 Owner
