Document needed for registering, building year
Bonjour Bonjour,
You have mine listed as registered as a 1966 (1049722). I have what appears to be the original registration dated 4-25-70 and showing the scoot as a 1969. The harness says 1966. If this is correct, the bike sat in the dealership for 3-4 years before being sold. ... or it came in as on a trade. Dunno which. Dana

Hi,
I hope you didn't paint your frame (or powder coated), they (registry office) don't like that, because it's not clear if someone cheated with the VIN numbers. It all depends who is doing the registry, but I know many examples of failed registry attempts. Since a few years it ain’t easy to register bikes without paperwork. If possible, do it yourself, because if someone else registers your bike, changes are that it will fail, unless it is a well known company. You took a lot of pictures during the process, and I strongly advice you to make a document of how you restored it, with as many pictures as possible, please include pictures of the VIN number before you painted it. Know your limits, don ‘tell fairytales, because they will know. If they smell that the bike is not from the Netherlands (for example a mile / hour speedo) or a “english” headlight, there is extra work to be done. Be honest, they are the specialist. Make sure the following points are in perfect order : - Tires, new modern tyres, with good profile and no cracks - Brakes, because they will do a brake test (safety ) - Electrics, especially the lights, including brake lights. - Noise (mufflers) - No sharp parts etc. They will test it as a rider, not as a old-timer, and after registry it is road worthy, so it should be before the registry roadworthy too. Remember, you will only hear the good stories of how easy it is to register a bike without papers, the bad story’s are never told. Sometimes you even don’t have the unload the bike from the truck, but most of the times they ride it, doing a brake test, test the lighting, etc. The chances that registry will be a success is as much as 50 %, just hoping you’re on the good side of it, Good luck, Jensen assembly of Japanese motorcycles requires great peace of mind (Pirsig)
Hi Jens, the bike is in a perfect condition when speaking of 'road worthy' , I just restored the bike !
Everything works as it should, so im very confident on that point. ( although some probs with the right cilinder, probably the spark plug) My biggest concern really is the paper work, im not worry'd about the bike itself at all, trust me, it's good alright. The person who is doing the registry for me is a well know company, and does all the unregistered bikes for CMSNL (they gave me his adress) http://www.coosmatser.nl/ So they know how these things work. I was hoping that they would do the registry today, but just got mailed that they will do it tomorrow. Thanks Dana for that extra bit of info, I will mail it to Coos , probably useful info. And Jens, yes, I did painted the piece of frame number over (because it was a little rusty) , but I did it with care, cleaned it very well, and the numbers are now easyer to read than before. So im not worry'd about that. well, again, I hope you guys here it tomorrow ! :) And thanks again Dana. Every little bit of 'evidence' helps here. Well....
THE BIKE IS REGISTERED !!!! YES ! Everything worked out great, it's a 1966'er now and it's official ! All the paper work was exellent you guys provided me, no complaints, nothing ! Without any problems the bike passed ! Sjeess... 1 year and about 6 months of work... done.... finished... What a relief ! Anyway, ive already begun on the next project, which is fixing a Yamaha XT500 , crashed it 2years ago (that's how i got my CB77, needed a new bike) , but ive decided to fix the XT. So, im already in the process of doing so.. it's to much of a waste to just throw it away, such a waste of such a classic, I just have to restore it, my motorcycle heart would attack me if I got rid of it, without an attempt to fix it. Just buying a new/other one is way to simple, thats not a solution for me. Fix it ! Or at least give it a try (frame is bent, but yeah, im going to fix that, and if I can't , I will let it fixed probably) Darn hobbies ! Always busy with these stupid cycle's, lol :D Thanks again everyone for the awesome help, im looking forward to make it's first maiden voyage in about 15years or maybe even 20years orso. Next week I get the papers, so then I will ride it and make some nice picture's of the bike in the wilderness ... :) 'Of course I've already taken a very modest position on the monetary system, I do take the position that we should just end the Fed.' - Ron Paul
