Any good after market petcock solutions ?
Any good after market petcock solutions ?Hi all,
i'm new to the forum and i want to start out saying how amazed i am by the amount of priceless info their is here and i hope to contribute :) so, i recently bought a '66 superhawk, it's in decent shape but it has had a few parts stripped from it in the past 20 years that is has been sitting. i have located almost everything i need besides a few things but mainly, i need a petcock. i searched this forum endlessly for advice but couldn't find anything on Aftermarket Petcocks. every once and a while they are known to pop up on ebay but they sell for a pretty high price, does anyone here know of a decent new after market one i can but and just screw on to my tank or at the very least, modify one to my tank ? any input will be greatly appreciated. -hill
What cylon36 said. I have a 2-output Pingle on my race-bike. It's a faucet flow, but it shouldn't be too hard to adapt.
http://www.pingelonline.com/powerflo.htm It threads into an adapter plate that comes along with a hefty gasket and is 3/8 npt thread. The adapter plate bolts into the tank sheet metal so you'll be making 2 more holes. You can also get them with a reserve. Mine doesn't have reserve. They do look slick. Dana

thanx Dana!
do you know if the cb350 petcock will fit the cb77 tank ? here is a link to one on ebay, it looks exactly the same. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Honda-NO ... _622wt_876 thanx -hill
so it turns out (if anyone is interested) that a honda cb350 petcock fits the cb77 tank but doesn't have the crossover inlet, late modle cb77's don't have the crossover outlet so in that case its perfect but in other cases you'll have to grind off the crossover outlet and weld the hole up.
