I'd start with a couple of basic issues. First I'd check that there are no leaks in the intake. It is very easy to over-tighten the carbs which distorts teh flanges and the tufnol spacers. With the carbs off I'd try to get a pair of new main jets just so you know what size they really are.

I'd double check the float level while the carbs were off and set them up as per the notes that LM posted for a tune up.

Then I'd look at the ignition system. If the springs on the advance unit are stretched or soft, timing will increase at lower revs that it should. I would start off by setting the timing statically and then test it with a timing light.

If it is firing at idle at the F and LF marks and is not advancing much beyond that, there is a problem with the advancer. It may be stuck for some reason.

In other words, go back to basics and check one system at a time.

Good luck.

heii
wether here is mostly sunny and nice , night are bit cold , and once in 2 weeks its raining for 2-3 days ...
i will try to get new main get for the carb .
checking with the stroboscope the ignition i can see that there is advanced going up with the rpm but it seems to be too early ,as it gets to its pick at 4500 ..
i can also turn the main accentric pin that open the points using a strong grip with my fingers ..
the piston btw is now made into 0.75 over size
no smoke coming out from the pipes
and no air lik from the interance of the carb
i ll try to take a vidio of the engine running and post it.
Thanks ...
