Restaking the screws on the rotor

Post by silverclerk@gmail.com » Wed Jan 12, 2011 7:15 pm

Hey all,
I took the rotor off because I thought the rollers weer getting stuck and preventing the motor from turning. Since I had it off anyway I decided to take it apart, now I have to restake those screws on the back of the rotor but am unsure of how to do it. Is it as simple as taking a cold chisel and hitting those screws at an angle? I am afraid of knocking the magnetism out of my rotor. Gracias amigos

I staked my starter clutch screws just as you describe and I can't see that I've lost any generator power.

You're welcome! Just remember to keep your cold chisel aligned with magnetic north when you smack it. :)
