When is it time to resurface Cam adjuster wheel? When is it time to resurface Cam adjuster wheel?I know this question has been asked before, but I haven't found an answer. I've got a cam chain idler wheel that appears to be in good shape except for some small denting in the center rib. There are no cracks. Is it bad enough to resurface or am I better off leaving it alone? I'm concerned I may do more damage than good.

Re: When is it time to resurface Cam adjuster wheel?I too would like to hear what the general opinion is. Mine is marginally better than yours, but does have marks (small chips) on the side of the center raised part where the white reflection is on your photo. When I cracked my motor open I found the cam chain guide roller was just floating in the chain because the whole center of it's guide pin was gone. I'm assuming that this caused the chain to be rubbing on one side of the tension roller causing the chips I see. It sure would be great to come up with some way of making the tension roller removable with the option for replacement. George
