Hondabond on both cases or just one?

Post by Jethro » Tue Jan 04, 2011 10:18 pm

Hi I'm just about ready to put my cases together and I am wondering if I need to put the Hondabond 4 on one case half or both of them.

Thanks, Jethro.

I would just paint a thin layer on the upper crankcase half (upside down on the bench) then fit the lower half down over it. Don't forget to paint the surfaces around the two forward center studs and I would also use acorn nuts and sealing washers on those. I've never put any sealer on the seal outer surfaces, but some here say it doesn't hurt. I don't think its necessary as long as you have new seals.

48lesco, by the two forward studs I'm guessing you mean the two studs (in the top case) that come through the center portion of the bottom case half?
