cleaning and spoke polishing

Post by zoom » Mon Nov 29, 2010 9:38 pm

Anybody ever tried to clean and polish spokes in a "Firearm Cartridge Polishing and Cleaning machine"
My buddy is big time into guns and has a large machine that vibrates and can take any kind of medium in it. Gotta be worth a try. At least clean them up nice before polishing.

Jay, the spokes are zinc plated. Polishing them will look really nice, until they start rusting. I have mine re-plated with clear cadnium, as well as all of the nuts, bolt, brackets etc from the bike.

Yep! Thats what I am going to do. I think the cartridge cleaner will do a good job in prepping them though (hope so)
