Special removal bolt

Post by djohns » Mon Sep 18, 2006 11:14 am

Need help on the special left hand bolt used to remove the alternator rotor from the shaft. Anybody know the size and pitch. I can make one on the lathe if necessary. JIS or ISO on a 64 CA77? Also has anybody run across bulk wire with the same stripping scheme since my harnesses have many patches. Thanks

Try using the rear axle. Thread it in and put a large srewdriver through the hole. A few taps of a hammer on the screwdriver handle in the correct direction and the rotor should be loose.

Nope. I'm 110% sure its the rear. Its what I used to remove my rotor. Front axle is to small.

Rear axle it was. Worked it off the tapered shaft in 1/2 turn.
