19" front wheel for a cl77

Post by klp » Sat Nov 20, 2010 5:49 am

I am looking for a decent wheel for my cl77 and also the brake hub complete as my linkage is pretty well rusted. If the wheel has some surface rust that will leave light pitting behind that will be ok, my bike will be a rider.

Thanks for reading.

Hmm, well I didn't know there was a difference.

I will say large because I have a set of 18" wheels off of a cb77 and the hub size did not match. I just thought it was my bad luck that Honda put different brakes hubs on the two bikes. It is an inch or so bigger than the cb hub. Is this correct?? If not how can I tell what I have??

Thank you, as you can see I am new here and need as much help as any newbie.

Should be the same size. Sounds like you may have a front wheel from a different model. Post pics and measurements, and we'll see if we can figure out what you have. Does your bike have aluminum or steel fork lowers?

Yeah, I was thinking they should be the same but...

The 18's I have are on a cb77 framed chopper - maybe those wheels are off a different bike or year. I think my cl has the original wheels as they are both shouldered rim style. I am not sure about the fork lowers as they have been painted black.

Let me get out to the garage and snap some pics.

OK well now I feel like I know less than when I started this post. But I am on my way.

My bike has aluminum fork legs as near as I can tell. The hubs do seem to be a different size - the cl is about a half inch bigger than the cb chopper.

Davo see if you can tell anything from the pics.

This is the chopper wheel.

This is the cl hub.

Here is the bike as it sits - I have the tank for it but it is pretty ugly. If you look close you can see the corner of it under the front of the bike behind it.

Thanks for the help.
