Give us the frame and engine number and we can offer the year of issue.
Some things I see ya will need.
Correct right side kick starter cover and rotor cover. (this one is from early DREAM)
Correct shift lever
Correct handle bars
Chain guard
Complete tail light (remove that tube thing)
Front fender
Correct seat
All cables
Air intake tubes and filters
Mufflers
Foot rubbers
Possibly both hand grips
Tires????????
Parts book
Just a couple of things. ............lm

56_oval wrote:Hey guys, I've been into small displacement bikes for awhile with the vespa's and such, and though they're fun, I thought I'd move up to a slightly larger bike. But with my need to ride something rare, I had to find something different, so I purchased a cb77. I love the lines of these bikes.
With that said, can anyone tell me any helpful hints about these bikes? I was never a real fan of the hondas until I saw a 60's superhawk at one of the local bike meets. I looked everywhere for one, and finally found a decent one a few hundred miles away. I expect to receive it early next week sometime.

My questions are what year is it; what seems to be missing; where can I find parts; and what do you guys think of the bike overall?

So I looked all over the net today for the correct ride side crankcase cover and didn't find anything. Anyone got a clue as to where to look?

I've seen them sell for 50-150+. They are generally in demand, as they break often. If you have a good buddy that welds aluminum, you can hold out and buy a cracked one cheap. Make sure it includes all of the internals, as most of the parts from the cover you have are not interchangeable.

So the bike came in today on the truck and I got my first close up of her. She will need alot more work than I had originally planned, but that's where all the fun is anyway. Both fenders have been cut. The speedo looks like someone had gotten inside at some point. The wiring is junk, and I have no idea where the handlebars came from. So I will need all the correct switches as well.

LM, you were right about the dream side cover, but I had hoped that's all that was wrong with the engine. It's locked up tight and doesn't shift through the gears very well. Unfortunately it's not even a CB engine, it matchs the dream side cover, cause the whole engine is from a dream. The engine number is CA77E 102375.
I've found another engine in Colorado that is complete minus carbs and exhaust, I'm just waiting til I have some more money.
