Brass badges

Post by Terry Brown » Sat Sep 11, 2010 3:58 pm

Hi All,
Anybody know which Honda had Brass tank badges, as I've just found a matching pair.
Sorry no pic's but they have the "wing" over the "Honda" as usual and are 56mm between hole centers.
Thanks to all answers

I see nobody ever answered your question Terry. I thought I'd offer up that I've seen other brass badges and emblems, mostly Harley in flea markets and such. I suspect these are Asian copies of original badges and done in brass for some unknown reason. Perhaps some of the metal badges are a brass base metal and then the fired enamel and chrome is done over the brass for a finished product. The brass ones could be rejects that they sell rather than remelt for a second try.

My wife came home with one, one day from some flea market or antique shop she was in. It was dirt cheap so she could not leave it there. It decorates a wall in my shop.

regards,
Rob

Thanks Rob, I picked mine up for only £3 ($5) so like yours, they are nailed to the wall in the garage.
With a bit of luck my CL77 will be on the road for Christmas,....time taken, 6 months.
Best regards,
Terry

Tank Badges

Post by Dgormley » Tue Nov 09, 2010 12:34 am

Terry, when I needed "proper" tank badges for my CL I ordered repros from RRHByrne@aol.com. They are very nice, but I did have to touch up some of the black paint (from shipping) and adjust the holes to fit my bike. For $55.00 they are the best deal out there................................D Lets see a photo of that CL!
