Starter making noise
Starter making noiseWhen my bike is cold the starter makes this noise.
See This video http://www.flutetears.com/starter.AVI Now I am ready to fix it. Question can the starter be removed with out taking of the side cover the kick start and all. And anyone have an idea as to what I may find. Thanks Brad 1974 CT90

Re: Starter making noiseYa can remove just the starter.
However at times a noise may come from the crank sprocket behind the rotor. The starter will need good grease on the gear side and some at the brush end. Careful. .........lm
Re: Starter making noiseWell as I see it that is the first start on this noise thanks for telling me that I can just remove the starter as I hope the problem is just lube as in Cold vis Hot. If not Well I will report. Brad

Re: Starter making noiseI just listened to your starter sound and I think it's the rollers behind the rotor slipping. .........lm
Re: Starter making noiseMmm ok then looks like I have more work to do then. That part may have to wait tell I get a replacement assembly that I can service then swap them out. I wonder how hard thats going to be find LOL. Thanks for the info 1974 CT90
