Seat shape - some have upturned front?

Post by GG » Wed Oct 27, 2010 12:51 pm

My cb77 has a seat with an upturned front, while I see most pics of straight seats. I need to get mine recovered. If I take the upturn off am I making it less original? I don't really like the present shape.

Late '66 - early '67 model. Lip-up seat type is correct. The only real notable changes that followed, later in '67, were the change in the headlamp chrome ring (fitted with a vertical beam adjustment screw), chrome fenders and the larger, oval taillight as seen in the pic below.

EDIT: and some of the last models were fitted with 'flat' curve header pipes (although not the one in the pic here), and some with the one-piece exhaust design.

Hmmm. I suppose I'll keep it original. Thanks for the information!
