CR93 shock bushings

Post by rbaselt » Sat Oct 23, 2010 8:17 am

The lower rear shock bushings on my 1963 racer needed replacement, but the only available part accepts an 8 mm diameter bolt instead of the original 10 mm bolt to secure the lower shock. If I drill out the steel bushing sleeve to 10 mm, not much will be left of the sleeve. Suggestions? Thanks, Randall

Is it not the same OD as those on a CB swingarm?

I don't have another bike here to compare to. All I know for sure is that the original shock and its bushing take a 10 mm bolt, and this replacement bushing takes an 8 mm bolt. Thanks, Randall

I'll try and get to the garage, knock one out of my spare swingarm and come back to you with the OD.

Try a pair for a CB160.

The new set of bushings is actually for the CB160. Thanks, Randall

I'd just drill out the sleeve , but keep it cool or the steel-rubber bond will come unglued.

Are you sure the 10mm are original? It's been way too long since I had a CR93 in my garage to rebuild and I can't remember what size that bolt was. It just surprises me that it would be larger and heavier.
