I do not understand how to remove the rotor
I do not understand how to remove the rotorI have looked at many previous posts and I am still not smart enough to figure it out. My engine was running, made a loud squeak.then was stuck. I took the right side engine cover off, and the engine could turn, squeak disappeared. I can see that the chain from the rotor to the starter motor seems to loosen up when turning the crank and kind of makes the engine stick. Therefore I want to take the stator and rotor off to look back there. The puller I see people recommending on here is just a bolt, don't I also need something to lock the rotor in place? It seems to me that I must lock the rotor in place so I can remove the bolt holding the rotor on, then screw the puller bolt in to that hole to remove the rotor. Is that right? Thank you
