I thought I read the Dunlop K70s were an OEM option?

I am second owner, my father purchased the bike in 1967 from the original owner. Tires haven't been changed since we owned it, so I assume the K70s came with the bike from the dealer.

That being said - my tires look good, but the tubes are toast. To be honest, hard to trust 40+ year old rubber, so I'll likely replace the K70s with the "new" versions - is there a recommended brand of tube to use?

I thought I was becoming dillusional when I read this thread. But I realized that the thread I thought I was reading is in the Everything Else section. Go there and you'll see a CL77 tire thread with a lot of good info.

I just bought K70's from bike bandit along with new IRC tubes. AMA discount makes for a great price, shipped.

Snakeoil,

Which size K70s did you get? OE for the CL77 was 3.00x19 tube type for front and 3.50x19 tube type for rear.

All I can find in a tube type is a 3.25x19 front and 4.00x19 rear - can I use these on the CL77?

Thanks!

I bought the 3.25-19 front and 3.50-19 rear. If I could have found a 4.00-19, I would have purchased it instead of the 3.50. Are you sure that 4.00 is a 19 inch tire. I know they make a K70 in 4.00-18 but could not find a 19.

Rob,

You are right - I can only find the rear in a 4.00x18 - I missed that.

I did see a 3.25x19 front and a 3.50x19 "front" - could that 3.50 be used on the rear or is it specifically made for the front (can't imagine that's the case).

Where did you purchase yours? My CL77 is itching to get out, and the tires are the last piece to getting her back on the road! :)

Thanks for your help!

Rich

I found them on several sites. One one site the 3.50 was listed as a front, on Bike Bandit, it was listed as front/rear. So that combined with the AMA discount, I went with Bike Bandit. Tire was backordered, but shipped on 9/2. Might be here today. I need to check with them for a tracking number.

Nice thing about Bike Bandit is you also build Bandit Bucks with every purchase so you get a discound on your next purchase.

Rob
