Noob, just getting started on a 67 CL77
HaHa!!! I win!!! In your face Stupid Swingarm Bolt... Ok, enough gloating... In all fairness it did almost take a finger.
ok, a couple lessons learned: a) a steel hammer, working it back and forth, PB Blaster and Patience will work where Duct tape won't. b) and Jensen's signature / quote "... Japanese motorcycles require great peace of mind" means a little more then it did before. All I've got to remove now is the Stem Races and figure out how to get the rabbit ears and tree off of the forks. The Ears really need to be replaced.. Thanks for your help guys. Joel
Quick question.
Is disassembly and re-assembly of my rear shocks something I want to attempt? I'm leaning towards yes. My rational is, if I can't get them back together then a) at least I tried b) the chomes pretty rusty so they will need to be redone or get new ones anyway c) if I can do it then I'll save money on the new ones. Unless there's also good reason to just get new ones. Thanks, Joel
Ya asked earlier aboout the direction of the installation of the SA bolt.
It was installed by HONDA from the left side on the CL72/77 and from the right side of the CB72/77. ...............lm
ok, think I'm stuck again. Should be pretty easy to talk me through, I'm having trouble getting the front forks apart, I can't even get the tree off.
I've done searchs but have only found instructions for CB's but the CL's don't have that chrome ring. Also, the parts fiche show a cir-clip but I don't see it. If anyone has pictures, that would be awesome but I can probably be walked though it without pics. As always, Joel
