ring compressor ideas? anyone

Stan, I just did a Triumph top end, and because we didn't have a good ring compressor we eased them into the bores and then fit the wrist pins as we lowered the jugs down. You have to seat the inboard circlips first and proceed with caution, but it worked pretty slick..................................D

Good to know D. That's what I had in mind with the circlips.

I found that my ring compressor doesn't go small enough, however with the removal of a couple of roll pins ( and the addition of a couple of hose clamps) it can be made into 2 compressors about the right size. I prefer that to banding material because it is corrigated and won't try to go into the bore. I believe it is a KD brand, although I couldn't find any markings on it.
