Just inheritated CL77

Hello eveyone,
I'm new to this forum. Sorry if this issue has already been addressed. I just inheritated a CL77 Scrambler from Grandfather who just recently passed away. It's been in his barn for the last 30 years. I've always wanted this bike. My question is what year is it and how do I tell. The frame number is CL77-1008242 and the engine number is CL77E-1008169. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

7 digit vin's started in 65 and continued till 67 when production stopped.
Production numbers for each year seem to be a secret.
Look for a tag on the wiring harness with a date on it.

Thanks Brewsky. I found a white tag on the wiring harness but whatever was on it is worn off now.
