Steve,Thanks for the picture, that's it.
The switch works very smooth,just can't get any movement out of the mechanisms that pull the
actuator wire down.
I thought maybe it was the brake pedal adjustment that was the problem,but I adjusted it every way possible but still no movement.
I did notice that in your picture the actuator wire is straight, mine is bent into a "c" shape. Looks like that would be a good place to start. I'll look into that today.
Brake pedal light switch -need helpMike, when you say you adjusted the brake pedal did you reposition it on the spline shaft or just adjust the brake at the rear wheel?When you push down on the brake it should move the curved piece under the battery box which pulls down on the actuater.Is the curved piece under the box free to move?The wire should be straight.Joe

I adjusted the brake pedal and the brake cam at the rear wheel. The curved piece that pulls the wire isn't moving. The bike is in my in-laws garage and i can't get up there till tomorrow to check things out again. Thanks,Mike brake lightSteve and Joe,
After I straightened the wire it was longer than the one in Steve's pic and looked homemade. Made a shorter one out of heavier wire and after a few little adjustments the brake light works great. Thanks guys,Mike last thing that needs fixed for state inspection is the horn,it only clicks.
Re: brake lightTake it apart, Mike, and clean the contacts with a points file or Emery cloth/wet 'n' dry paper, then adjust the contact restrictor screw whilst operating until a desired tone is achieved. If it's a mess inside, spray it clean with WD40, shake it out, clean the contacts off with alcohol or gas (oily contact will burn -- same goes for ignition contacts!) and then adjust the tone.
