NOS CB77 Harness

I picked up an NOS harness on ebay recently. It is OEM Honda PN# 32110-268-305 as is correct for my 1966 CB77. When I went to install it onto my bike I realized that it had a number of extra wires that the original did not have. Specifically it had an extra orange and an extra light blue wires that went from the headlight bucket all the way to the end along with the tail light wiring.

I recognized these wires as being for turn signals (just like my 1971 CB750) which is perfect as I am adding a period aftermarket turn signal kit to this bike! The other two extra wires are at the battery and are black and gray. I don't know what they are for but I plan on using them to bring in a switched 12V and a ground, also for the turn signals! Cool! No extra harness needed!!

Did all replacement harnesses come with these extra wires? Just wondering.

I think the black and the grey wires went to the winker relay.

The after production (repop) harness (305) do have the turn signal circuit wires. ................lm

This is an clearly an OEM harness, not a repop one. Maybe replacement is a better term, as repop usually indicates an aftermarket part. In any event I am glad that the extra wires are there! Is there a switched twelve volts inside the headlight bucket?

Thanks Wilf, I will use them for the power/ground, as long as it isn't already in the harness somewhere. Haven't had a chance to look at a diagram yet.

Well to me and others repop means "reproduced after production" of a part from existing designs (not always newest or oldest) by HONDA.
Not After Market.
Yes that is a MADE for HONDA part. ..................lm

Ed,

In my 30 years of playing with old bikes I have never heard of a Factory part being called a repop. In the BMW world, repop refers to a part reproduced by someone other than the factory. Just a semantic difference.

In any event I am glad that Honda saw fit to add the wires to this harness as it certainly made my life much easier! :-)
