Engine Cleaning With The Motor Apart

Post by kyle91987 » Tue May 25, 2010 8:45 am

I was wondering if anyone had any experience with cleaning the entire motor with it disassembled. I was considering have the motor soda-blasted but I don't want to damage any of the mating surfaces. I've read that soda-blasting is considered to be relatively safe, but I would like to hear from the experience of others.

Kyle,
My blasting preference is round glass bead and any surface I want protected I use duct tape and blast away. Soda would be much less abrasive but I think would take much longer to accomplish the same results. Duct tape does work well to protect. RW
