buttons

For what it's worth, here are pix of horn and starter buttons on my 62 cb77. I think that one of them is original, and one is for a later CL model. Too long a story to tell why I think this.

I always thought the logo looked like TEK, but what do I know.

Horn button logos

Thanks for the great close ups, jlee. That is what all of my other buttons look like, including extra switches. Does anyone have the definitive answer on the TEK vs TEC question?

There must be some connection. I have NA keys marked NILES with the crab logo.

Niles Co., LTD

Post by conbs » Tue May 25, 2010 10:35 am

A quick Google of Niles and I found Niles Co., LTD: http://www.niles.co.jp/english/index.htm that is located in Japan. Founded in 1954 and one of their main customers today is Honda Motor Co. (among many auto manufacturers). They manufacture alot of electric switches.

Doesn't prove the crab was their logo, but likely. I didn't see anything on a quick review of their website.

I still wonder what it means that Honda allowed the crab logo in the mix. And, does it have any bearing on what is correct for models/years.

Perhaps merely trivia, and yet......probably still more productive than anything that is happening in Congress these days.
