Take the tubes off the bowl vent and try that.
Also where is the air screw?. ...........lm

It still sucks. If anything, its a bit worse. I took a 10 mile ride today which ended in the bike running so poorly that I had to limp it home.

When I had the air filters and hoses off I ran the bike as was mentioned in "The Recipe". It idles like a CHAMP now and runs fine under about 25-30% throttle. As soon as you start putting some twist into it, the thing sounds super throaty and even sometimes makes a loud crack out of the inlet of the carb. It also SPRAYS fuel out the inlet as well. Does this mean it is grossly rich now that something freed itself in the fuel system? The timing is for sure right. It's a touch retarded at idle but is dead on the mark above that.

Here's a video of it running as I mentioned. Toward the beginning you can hear it backfire through the carb. You can't really hear how extra throaty it gets when it starts to miss-- I guess that doesn't come across on an iPhone mic. You also can't see, but my phone (and face, and hand, and shirt sleeve...) was covered in spraying fuel from the carb inlet.

Any help would be appreciated!

Even with the carb slide exposed it's hard to tell...are you sure your slides are not in backwards? Cutout side to the rear (facing air cleaners).

That cracked spark plug wire would not exactly fill me with confidence.

And it absolutely sounds like you're running on one cylinder. Pardon me if I missed your mentioning it already, but are you certain you have spark on both sides?

Also, into which grooves on your jet needles are the clips positioned currently?

The air screw is about 1 1/4 turns from the bottom and the slide screws are about 2 1/2 in from letting the slides bottom out. I'll try removing the vent tubes. My hotrodding friend just told me to spray some carb cleaner in the carb while its coughing to see if it helps or hurt as a simple check to see if it's rich or lean? Good or bad idea?

Sounds to me like the carbs aren't transferring from the idle jets to the main jet.
Are the slides lifting at the SAME time?. ............lm

The slides moving together was the first thing I checked-- they seem very well aligned. What I mean by 2 1/2 turns is basically what Ed mentioned. He said to unscrew them early in the process until both slides are bottomed out. They toward the end, before starting it, he said "Remove tools and turn slide screws in a couple of turns." which I did. He later says to adjust the screws to idle the bike at about 800rpm. The bike does that without adjustment to the screws.

Also, I did what my 'rod friend told me to. It seems the right side carb is a bit worse than the left so I decided to spray in some carb cleaner. Holy f**k! Right as I sprayed it in with the throttle twisting on it ROCKETED up to 8000rpm. It is quite obviously lean. If my neighbor has some bigger jets, I'll start there tomorrow. I'm not missing any steps am I?

I'd check the jet needle height setting before I started messing around with jets, but that's just me. It wouldn't take much effort to move the clips down (and needle up) and see what happens.
