Hi LM,
I have a very early CB72 frame, and a very early engine with it.
Most stuff is the same as the 61, but some parts are different, like the front brake panel.

Hi LM,
I'm afraid so, that's why I think it's a unofficial 1960 version, dated as a official 1961.
I hope to find all parts that I need to get it on it's wheels, but this will be more difficult then all other projects together. I'm looking at a unexplored path, not many people in this world can give first hand information (you my feel flattered).
Since I got a bare frame (in need of welding, for some reason the upper engine hangers are cut off, and the rear tubes that holds the seat are cut off too), a very early engine, tail light, rear mud guard, early stainless steel mufflers (heavily dented)
What I need : all the rest

I'd say ya have a long time project just locating the correct parts for sure.
Of course since the forums have come along rare parts are located each day.
Good luck. ...........lm

Hi!
I too have an 61 that I will build a CYB61 racer of. I too miss a lot of parts. I am looking for an engine, or at least a set of cases and a head.
Here is a phot of the single leading brake-plate

Hi,
That's the one, thanks for the picture.
Why are you turning his into a racer ?
A CB72 61 is a very rare bike, and nice too.
Many parts are different, and (very) difficult to find.
If you like to trade parts for more modern parts, I'm interested.

I will convert it to a racer because I dont have any paperwork for it, and I dont have the original engine.
What other parts do you need? Are you having any photos of it?
