Clutch assembly

Post by cdnradio » Wed Apr 07, 2010 5:24 pm

I dont have a book for the 305 dream and have a couple of clutch questions.

How tight should the plate spring mechanism be tightened (ft lbs)?

I installed the thicker metal plat first into the basket. Is that correct?

Thanks

I'm sure there's a right answer and that someone will be along shortly who knows it, but remember that the screws are small diameter and are easily snapped off. They do not need to be very tight to do their job. hand tight - just snug will suffice.

And yes, the A plate (thick one) goes in first IIRC.

If the (plate spring mechanism) is/are the 4 springs and bolts/washers ya can use a 1/4" drive 10mm socket and tighten the FIRM. .............lm

As a general rule, 7-8 foot pounds for a 6mm bolt.
