My thanks to all who replied some time back ( and especially e3steve ) on my query about adding turn signals to my '67 CB 77 "mike's baby." I purchased "turn signals" from Dennis Kirk ( package says "marker lights- not DOT approved." What the h*ll, they work) and proceeded to make some brackets out of aluminum stock. I did not want to do any alterations to the bike. I just want to keep my wife happy-she who says "its dangerous to ride without turn signals." ( and she's right of course.) Took me a couple of tries to get it right. I had every thing hooked up correctly, except I ran the returns from the switch to ground instead of back to the blue/orange leads. When the headlight started to blink, I knew I was on the right track ! After serious mental exercise, I realized what I had done, and Voila ! I had turn signals. Attached find pics of the setup. Its pretty crude, but I'm going to pop for a bullet connector kit from Vintage Electrics, and get everything in shrink tubing and routed and covered so it looks like it sort of belongs.
(Bob the Bobber is on hold for the present. I'm going to ride the snot out of this one this summer !)

Of course she's right. It says so in the contract. Rule #1 the wife is always right. Rule #2, when you absolutely know that you are right, remember rule#1. I love those small lights. They are a nice match to the shape of the mirrors. For the toggle switch have you looked at say a CB175 or CB350 switch with flashers. Put the stock switch aside in case you ever go stock to sell it and slide on a slightly more modern switch block for functionality. Just a thought.
turn signalsTeazer- yes, I've been looking for just such a switch for a while, and nothing has turned up. Thought I had a derelict 350 lined up a while back and that might have been a good candidate. I am still keeping my eyes open. Havent done anything to the bike that would preclude using a regular switch if one turns up. Would be an easy switch ( no pun intended.)
Saw these lights in the Dennis Kirk CD, and thought they'd look pretty good on the baby. Brackets could be handled differently. Maybe I will get some inspiration, and use something different. Or just paint these black. Was going to mount the rear ones in the factory brackets, but they would not be noticeable that close to the frame, and almost under the seat. I had thought that when I get around to Bob the Bobber ("66 CB 77 cafe racer project) that I might just lift all the electrics from a donor 350. Does anyone know of any reason why that wouldnt work ? Seems like you'd have everything needed and all you'd have to do would be to hook the electrical output from the engine to the 350 wiring harness. (?) thanks for the idea. I've got a bunch of nos universal aftermarket turn signal switches that I got for cheap in a closeout a few years ago. I got these to sell at swap meets and such. They have not moved very well and I'd be glad to drop one in the mail for free if you think you can use it. They clamp on a 7/8 dia bar with a three wire connection and are engraved L/R. They're just sitting around collecting dust so if you can use one PM your address and I'll get it right out. The only pick that I've got is one thats mounted on my Harley Hummer flat track racer. I'm using it as an auxillary kill switch. (NO BRAKES !!!!!)   Mark
