CL77 Type II fork assy.HELP

Post by agss563 » Sun Feb 28, 2010 10:37 pm

Trying to assemble my aluminum legged forks.Been a year and the parts got jumbled up over time.Question-Does the small beveled ring on the fork leg, face beveled side up or down? Does sleeve on bottom of fork leg, face with the counter bore up or down?Should start taking pictures of disassembles!!
Thanks

I believe that the counter bore faces up( I think that's the only way you'll get the retaining ring to fit)
The beveled piece (I believe) faces down. I hope this is right because that's the way I put mine together. Anyone know for certain?

I struggled with this too, even though I did take some photos.
Mine are assembled with the bottom bush 'counter bore up'. The bush sits on the flat snap-ring, I think. My damper ring is in with bevel downwards even though my photos don't really support my decision.....

My reasoning is that the bevel part covers / uncovers that ring of holes as it floats up and down.

My photos are attached. These were all taken on disassembly.

Good luck!
