O-ring chains have more drag than conventional chains. X-ring chains have less drag than O-ring, but still more than conventional. On dirt bikes, the guys, like me, on 250 four strokes tend to run standard, while the 450 four stroke, and 250 two stroke guys run O or X ring chains.

I can't talk for anyone else, but my comments about O ring chain relate to the cost and the fact that they are not necessary for most low miles applications IMHO.

Anyone doing lots of miles should consider the durability that an X ring or O ring chain could provide and make their own decisions.

My preference is regular 520 chain, butt, replace the grease with, with chain wax. After, I wash out the grease, and dry it, I heat up the chain , so the wax flows every where. Give it acoulpe of coats, and your, good to go! FLING, is a thing of the past, wheel stays clean
