All CLs had the steering damper. It was available as a CYB part for the CBs. It requires a special top engine hanger bolt with a built on mount, and special attachment bolt for lower triple tree.

CBs use the friction type ass'y that penetrates the steering head, top to bottom, Flashy. CP is a CB in name only; its origin is unclear but all parts are the same. Some northern European and all(?) Canadian models varied only by virtue of having
  • a) blinkers and
    b) small (early issue CB) tallight
The h305 site is still collating info.....

Those look much like the illustration in the parts book for the German market.

I tried to just post a picture, but I'm not pc literate and couldn't pull it off. This is the special engine mount bolt that is for mounting the lower end of the hydraulic type steering damper. Note the Price!!!!!!!!

Makes ME wish I knew someone who could knock one of those out for me. Bill

I got one of these CYB motor mounts last year from Nick Fetzer/Ohio Cycle, but the part number he has is slightly different: 90105-268-821. Plus, it's only $65.00.

Additionally, that special bolt that mounts onto the lower triple tree on the CB's is not available, unless someone can enlighten me otherwise. On CL's it's welded into the hole, and the hole in the lower triple tree on the CB is threaded. However, it's pretty straightforward to make the bolt - just need the right thread (at both ends, with an unthreaded part in the middle where the damper sits), no head on the bolt, and a small drill bit to make the hole for the little cotter pin for the castle nut. Then of course you need the damper, plus all the bushings and rubber parts.

I went through all of this last year for the hydraulic steering damper on my bike - lots of fun.

I'm going to have a go at making those for a friend who lives nearby. The cranked engine mount bolt is the weirdest thing ever but I have worked out how to make one. The little part that screws into the triple tree is much simpler.

If all goes well I'll put a hydraulic damper on my 'new' CB77 project just for the hell of it.
