kill switch

I installed a kill switch on my scrambler the way sotxbill and e3steve said, it works fine. Install was a challenge as I wanted the switch near the throttle. See pic's at "Rants and Raves", "Newbie to site". Sorry I don't know how to post the images here, but you'll find it. It's probably on page 3 or 4.

Here's a link to the page: http://www.honda305.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=4084

I'd like to add one to my CB77 as well. Mike, do you just kick start the bike?

I've been looking at a few switches here and here.

kill switch

Hey Spargett,
I use the kill switch to enable the 12 volts to the coil once the ignition is switched to "on" position, then kick as normal. When ready to dismount, throw the toggle "off" and switch the ignition to "off" when desired. Lights and all stay on untill you turn the ignition "off'.
I found the little toggle switch at Radio Shack and used two 18ga. wires for the loop then used heat shrink tubing to add a measure of protection and style and using black zip ties, secured it to the trottle cable and routed it downward past the tank. The drilling of the two holes in the collar has to be done right the first time for obvious reasons. You have to carefully hog out the bottom hole on the cable outlet side (from the interior of the collar) to create enough space to bend the cable through without chaffing due to motor vibration. That little toggle once wired just fits with zero extra space. Thanks for getting the picture forward.

Mike
