Does anyone out there happen to know where to find replacement exhaust baffles for a 1964 CL72 Scrambler? Has anyone had any luck restoring their old ones? How about those exhaust pipe extension mufflers I've noticed CoolRetroBikes sells - anyone try those yet?

I did see some on ebay this week. I think they were asking a bit less than $75, but I didn't look back to see what they eventually sold for. I may just try to clean my old ones up and reinstall them. Anyone have good ideas on how to remove rust effectively, and then what I might use to coat/paint them so they'll last? Thanks! Bigdog

The baffles you saw on eBay are also ricks vintage; same guy. Foe removing rust, I highly recommend Eastwood's OxiSolv Rust Remover. It is not caustic like naval jelly and doesn't stink either. As far as refinishing, you could try an engine paint. I also bought Eastwood's zinc plating kit which I would personally use. Good luck. George bafflesGeorge,
