Great to see someone make lot's of miles on a CB,
and yes we all can see that you're a photographer, beautiful picture.

The sharpness exactly around the 2 (20.000 miles), large lens opening 1.2 or 1.4, colors look great, black is black, no irritating flash in the chrome, you know what you're doing, great eye for detail.

congratulations, up for the next 20.000 miles,

Jensen
Thanks for the congrats - hope the bike will be good for at least another 20,000 - if not more (at this rate, another 20,000 may only be in 5 years!).

Techie camera info stuff for this shot: Nikon D700 w/28-70 f/2.8 lens, shot at around f/5.6 with a +4 close-up ring in partly cloudy 3pm light.

Just came back from one of the last rides of the year - did about 100 miles in beautiful Sunday weather. The bike's going to John in a couple of weeks for its next round of winter projects.

I think this is the list of things to be done:

1. New rear tire.
2. Re-chrome tank side panels, and chrome rear brake arm.
3. Machine two aluminum 'cups' to replace the two black rings on the top of the external front springs.
4. Rework the rear brake so that it actually has some effect.
5. I'm going to get the tank and the front fender repainted (same motif, but just fixing some issues).
6. Potentially paint the body of the recently installed steering damper (I'm thinking silver to match the silver on the fenders and side panels).
7. Replace the fuel screen in the petcock.
8. Replace the oil drain plug.
9. Convert the glass main fuse to a plug-in type fuse.
10. General service and checkup.

Decals-wise, the '59' on the rear fender is probably going to be replaced with a reproduction dealer transfer from the UK. There's a fellow over there who is currently reproducing about 70 different vintage dealer decals, and he has some of dealers who sold Hondas during the 1960's (Commerford's, Elite Motors, King's of Oxford, and of course Gus Kuhn), so we'll see which one will work best. Too bad he doesn't have Read Brothers!

So I think that will about cover it for now....time to lock up the shed.

What a difference a week makes. Last week at this time we were surrounded by 21 inches of snow. This week there is virtually no trace of the storm, and today was a beautiful sunny day. Temperatures seemed to reach into the upper 40's, and I managed to put in one more ride before year's end.

It wasn't a particularly long ride -- really just long enough until my chilled fingers gave in. But a nice way to end the year, all the same. Bike ran like a top.

Next trip is to the mechanic for the winter projects.....

Cool Vince, glad you were able to get her out and Stretch her legs, so to speak. I'm sure that (even in the briskness of the temps, if felt GOOD to get out for a bit.

I chickened out myself. waiting for yet another day.

It did feel really good, actually, even if it was only about a 2 hour ride.

What didn't feel quite as good was yesterday (Monday), which involved riding in 32 degree weather (and 30mph winds) to drop the bike off at my mechanic's. Good thing it was only about a 20 minute ride!

Was just tabulating, and I think the bike traveled just over 4100 miles this year. Next year will be Mid-Ohio again, and hopefully the Barber Museum as well. We'll see.

Happy New Year -- what better way to kick off 2010 than to take your bike apart?!

Well, not completely apart.....the tank, front fender and side covers were dropped off at the painter (Dave Brunson / Brunson's Customs) last week. Same motif is going to be done, but some things are going to be refined, and it's going to be better in the long run. The tank side panels, rear brake arm, and the recently installed steering damper were sent to Ronnie Brown / Brown's Chroming on Monday. John managed to get the rubber boot off the steering damper without damaging it, and I think chroming it is a much better solution than either painting it or trying to keep it polished. Should look good.

Also picked up some 6061 aluminum on Monday for John to make the two 'cups' that will replace the black painted rings at the top of the external fork springs. I think it will have a much more 'finished' look than it currently has (I'm probably the only one who notices).

For those 59 Club members here, I'm sorry to report that the '59' decal on the rear fender is going away. It is going to be replaced with a 'Horsman's of Liverpool' dealer transfer -- they were a dealer in the 1960's who sold Hondas, and I think it will look much more interesting (BTW, if anyone has any info on Horsman's, I'd love to know about it!).

Bike should hopefully be back together by the end of the month.....can't wait!
