Problem is throttle cable and throttle... basically the throttle is shot i cant change the position at all!, it also is in not so good condition. I have no clue what year it is, no title, im ok with working on bikes i ride a RMZ 250 for hare scrambles. I really wanna restore her but I do not want to dive into something thats expensicve to buy parts for.. Right now my parts list is this,
Throttle everything! Mirrors Tires Batter Air filter And that piece that goes between the engine and frame its like a fairing or somehting. I am from new jersey I wouldnt mind speaking on the phone to any member who would like, if you like to I will post my number her later, or if anyone happens to be enar by or knows a place i can go to near by for info that would be great! Will it be hard to get this thing titled its obviously between 1960 and 1969 since its a 305 dream with the funny looking forks up front the are really wide.

dreamHi, Just a possibility on the throttle,You may have put the carb slide back in 180 deg. out. That would cause a very high idle.
Almost all of those parts can be found on ebay. Search Honda Dream, CA77 and CA78 Whitewall tires can be found at Coker Tire. Blackwall tires can be found at J.C.Whitney. The fairing part you are missing may be the carb covers? AVOID APEX CYCLE WHEN LOOKING FOR DREAM PARTS !!!!!!!!!!!!!! 66 Dream
78 Goldwing ok, i dont understand the 180 degree thing, the thing is the twist grip doesnt work right with the throttle stuff and the cables is cracked and doesnt slide very well the carb cover is what i am missing. Is it worth restoring it? Is there a market for these thing restored or not restored? I would be happy parting it out how much you think i can sell it whole vs. parting out vs restoring it and keeping it or selling it?
dreamDid you unscrew the top of the carb with the throttle cable going into it when you cleaned the carb?
The silver cylinder that fits into the top of the carb is called the slide. It can go in two ways, one way is correct and you can spin it half way around and that's the wrong way. You can also take the throttle tube on the handlebar and clean and lube it. If you could post a picture of the bike, guys here can probably tell you if it's worth restoring or not. I did a cosmetic restoration on a 65 Dream and sold it for $3,000 on ebay but I probably had more than that in it. 66 Dream
78 Goldwing Post your frame and engine VIN numbers and someone will tell you the year model.
The frame VIN is on the left side of the frame near the footpeg and is probably covered with dirt. You will need the numbers when obtaining many correct replacement parts. If you decide to restore it, the Bill Silver manuals, available from the literature link above are a good investment. There are two different throttle cable types used, depending on the year, an internal slide in slot type, with cable thru the handlebars, and a conventional twist wrap type. Both are available at reasonable prices. 66 dream, 78 cb750k, 02fz1, 09 wing
I posted pics of the bike in the parts section this is the link ill post a few here for the temptation to look at the rest. I am thinking about selling this baby for parts well below market value so take a look at the vin numbers engine- CA95E-5010897 Frame- CA95-5010327, I still do not know what year it is exactly. Let me know if anyone needs any special parts for Christmas.
