point settings 1975 honda 250mt

Post by jimbow77 » Sat Nov 14, 2009 1:56 pm

I had the engine running for about 5 secs and then lost my spark again. I am thinking maybe the points are out of adjustment. We have intermittent spark. Does anyone know the point setting?

Until you find yourself a manual, start with 0.012"-0.014". Plugs 0.024"-0.028" and, being a 2-stroke, the static timing will probably be somewhere around 20º BTDC. Not definitive, so you need to get a manual, soon-as. 'Google' your requirement -- all info is out there; you just gotta sift through it!
