Appearance

I just bought this bike and I would like to have any opinion about the general appearance and model.

Well... now this is coming from a know nothing BUT...

the engine and frame look like they are off of a 1970 something CL250 or 350.
the gas tank is cb77 or 72 tank that is sitting at a slightly different angle than the actual cb77 tanks, and i think it was the early model tanks that had the cap in the center like that, but i'm not sure.
the head light might be a modded bucket from a cb450 or just a cb77 bucket that's in a position i'm not used to, due to being fit on cl250 forks.
the front forks look like the cl250 forks but modded to get rid of the grommet.
seat from a mid 70's cb360.
fenders look like a cl250 too.
the pipes are obviously not the stock high pipes a cl would have come with, but it's not far fetched to believe they've been swapped out too.

I'd say for all practical purposes you have a 'custom' cl250.
check the frame and engine numbers and tell us what they say.

all in all, i think it's a really neat custom job and worth a story.

Bech

Looks like a CB250 with CB77 headlight, bars and CB77 tank to me. Pipes are standard CB250. Seat looks like it has had the padding removed to lower it.

Looks like yours is a K4 as they replaced the rubber gaiters with steel on the later ones.

That explains the missing grommet and the pipes. i've never seen a cb250 in person. just cl's :p

Looks really nice though. You could be tempted to think it was a real factory job. There are features from a number of bikes there added together to create a great classic style. Those air filter covers are definitely off an earlier bike and the shocks with all of the covers on look like CB77 or CB450.

My K3 should have had the deeper front fender (British model) but I just couldn't get one.

Engine and frame numbers might give a clue to the age / model of the original bike.

I was looking for a classic and I really liked the style and sturdiness of this bike.
I'm fixing the front brake and carb and then it will be ready to go.
It starts easy and the engine sounds powerful for a 250.
Should I call it a CB250 or something else? Is it a Hawk?

Hi,

If my eyes are not lying to me it is the very rare CB250K0 / K1, a model between a CB72 and a CB250. The picture of this very rare machine is from the Honda museum, please look at it closely. It was only sold in Japan, nobody knows how much. I wish I had one.
