new rear brake cable?

Post by maia » Wed Oct 14, 2009 10:17 pm

Anybody know where I can find a rear brake cable for my superhawk? Motion pro says $40 but that thing is pretty complicated for a brake cable and I suspect it would be more in the final reckoning. Haven't seen anything on e bay yet. Thanks

Seriusconsolidated have them out of Kitchener, Ontario, so you'd save the border hassle, and they're usually on eBay...although there apparently is a difference between the earlier and later ones. Theirs are for an earlier one, I took my old cable in and actually compared the 2, and their's are a tiny bit shorter, and my bike is a 66 by the wiring harness tag. Having said that, LoudMouse told me he though it should work.

I bought mine a couple of months ago from Retrobikes in Olympia. It's on a 1963 frame and it works fine.
