how?OK, I for one am baffled by how you could accomplish this by yourself...camera had to be panning or moving at same speed as you to blur background and foreground.
assuming no darkroom (photoshop) magic involved. some kind of automatic motorized pan head on tripod with maybe a motion detector or remote that doesn't show in pic to trigger it? simplest explanation is that it's not you on bike but I doubt that, you said no assistance. trade secret or care to share? still baffled...thanks, Lee '62 CB77. Your profile does mention this, however I didn't realized it. I think that the answer lies in the camera you use, so what camera do you use ? I alway had two Nikon F3, one with b/w and one with color loaded, I can't decide what camera I want to buy now, but I think it will be a Nikon D700, full frame, so I can use my nikkor lenses. I have a Nikon D700, and it is a really great camera. I have gotten the feeling though that Nikon has always bee playing catch-up with Canon in the digital department. Plus, whenever Nikon introduces a new camera, there's this initial frenzy and you have to wait months and months to get the camera - almost like they didn't anticipate people actually wanting the camera, and by gosh, I guess we gotta start making some of them now!
I'm waiting for the D800 and its built-in Wi-Fi, so I won't have to use the.....whoops -- almost gave away the secret!

I've officially put 16,000 miles on the bike as of today (November 21, 2009). Purchased the bike in May of 2004 with exactly 4,000 miles on the odometer, and hit 20,000 miles today. Looking forward to Mid-Ohio again next year and.....wait for it.....Barber Museum in October. Lord help me.....

Great to see someone make lot's of miles on a CB, and yes we all can see that you're a photographer, beautiful picture. The sharpness exactly around the 2 (20.000 miles), large lens opening 1.2 or 1.4, colors look great, black is black, no irritating flash in the chrome, you know what you're doing, great eye for detail. congratulations, up for the next 20.000 miles, Jensen assembly of Japanese motorcycles requires great peace of mind (Pirsig)
