'65 CA77.....I'm blowing the fuse as soon as I turn the key. How do I trace this?

Sounds like you have a power wire grounding out. you'll need to look for a bare wire touching ground, or something hooked up wrong. In the headlight there are two green wires, the one with a white band is groung, the other power. Just a few thing to start with.

If you pull your ignition feeds off the switch and try them one at a time to narrow down which circuit it might be. As Davo said you have power wire shorted to ground somewhere. Make sure you have a 15A fuse.

I have isolated it to the black wire coming off the ignition switch. Unfortunately, there about a dozen things that "Y" off from it.

PS. any idea where i can get (and what type of )a bulb for the neutral light?

I believe it's a GE 53, available at auto parts stores, Bring the burned bulb to match up.

can i just detatch the black wire on the different components all at once- and then reconnect them one at at a time until the fuse blows? will that test work?

Sounds like a good plan to me.
