kick sterter inop.

riding my cl77 yesterday, every thing fine, heard or felt somthing unusual and looking down noticed my kick starter arm up against the stator cover. got home ok noticed a faint fine buzzing sound before stopping engine. kick starter arm did not engage at all. took off side cover and kick starter shaft came out with side cover until i grabbed it and pushed back in engine case. now if i push shaft in it won't turn forward by hand but if i put side cover back on it will engage to start but then just flops forwad into stator again .... any ideas as to the remedy, would be appreciated thanks ..otis.

thanks for your reply sdaigle240, the loud mouse is pointing me in the right direction, seems as if the kick starter shaft is broken , and i can try my hand at disassembling the engine case, lm says it will be fun ! he has a bigger smile on his face than i do...otis
