While inspecting the cam sprocket advance weights I noticed that one of the weight tips is worn down about 1 mm and the other weight about .5 mm. Bill Silver's book reads to ensure that the spark advance does not exceed 45-48 degrees.
1. Does anyone know if this much wear is going to affect spark advance?
2. How do you measure the spark advance to check for the 45-48 degrees?
Other than these two things, the cam sprocket rivets are solid and the new advancer springs really tightened things up.

Cam Sprocket Advance WeightsE, the way to check spark advance is to run the engine, and put a timing light on it at full advance. Obviously not something you can do while the engine is apart. You'll probably be fine running it, be sure to check advance when reassembled, and if worst comes to worst, you can retard the timing at points plate
